PAM Community of Practice

PAM practitioners don't have to be isolated.

Privileged Access Management roles are specialised, high-risk and often siloed inside individual organisations. Many teams are solving similar problems around discovery, onboarding, governance, non-human identities and privileged access risk without a trusted place to compare approaches.

PAM Best Practice is building a vendor-neutral community of practice where practitioners, educators, learners and industry partners share experience, develop collective best practice and advance the PAM profession together.

Why this community exists

Getting into a PAM role is a major step forward, but the work can quickly become specialised, complex and isolated. Practitioners are trusted with some of an organisation's highest-risk accounts, including administrator access, root access, service credentials and database privileges. Yet there are few independent places where they can ask how others solved a difficult onboarding challenge, handled non-human identities, or recovered lessons from a difficult deployment.

This community is designed to reduce that isolation. It brings together people who work with PAM in practice, people who teach the next generation, and learners preparing to enter the field. The aim is simple: turn fragmented experience into shared expertise.

Are you a PAM practitioner, cybersecurity professional, educator, student or industry partner? Join a vendor-neutral space where experience becomes shared knowledge and peer learning strengthens the whole PAM profession.

What gets shared here
Case studies and lessons learnedReal-world deployment decisions, discovery approaches, account onboarding lessons, governance challenges and mistakes that produced useful learning. Content can be anonymised where needed, but the focus remains practical and vendor-neutral.
Peer Q&A and workshopsThe community creates space for questions such as: how are other teams managing non-human identities, cloud access, zero standing privileges, privileged account reviews or compliance evidence? The value comes from practitioners comparing real approaches rather than relying only on product-specific forums.
Frameworks and best-practice resourcesAs patterns emerge, PAM Best Practice can help curate checklists, decision trees, maturity guidance, templates and learning resources that support practitioners, educators and learners across the field.
