Teesside University graduates, where PAM Best Practice began as a guest lecture

For colleges and universities

PAM Best Practice began as guest lectures at Teesside University. The curriculum is designed to sit inside cyber security, computing and business courses, adding the specialist application of privileged access to the foundations students already have.

  • The ten PAM Academy modules for each cohort
  • Module exercises for applied coursework and assessment
  • The Periodic Table of PAM Security as a competency framework to map against your learning outcomes
  • Support to fit the material into a course you already run

The Periodic Table of PAM Security, 112 elements in seven categories

Built on one shared framework

Every module maps to the Periodic Table of PAM Security: 112 elements in seven categories covering threat actors, risk factors, business constraints, compliance standards, processes, tools and success enablers.

It gives lecturers a structure to map learning outcomes against, and gives teams a common language across technical, business and compliance roles.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you need. How many learners, which roles or courses, and when you want to start.
  2. We send you a proposal and quote. It sets out access, assessments, certificates and any support you need.
  3. We set up your learners. Each learner gets an academy account and joining details.
  4. Learners start with Module 1. They work through the modules, exercises and assessments at their own pace or to your timetable.

Common questions

Do you publish prices for institutions and teams?

No. Every quote depends on the number of learners, how many cohorts you run and how you want to use the material, so we agree it with you directly. Individual learners can see our prices on the pricing page.

Which modules are included?

Modules 1 to 5 are available now, and modules 6 to 10 are coming soon. Learners get each new module as it is released.

Is the course accredited?

Not yet. We are working with universities and colleges towards accreditation. In the meantime, institutions can teach and assess the material inside courses they already run.

Can it work with our own learning platform?

Learners use the PAM Academy platform. If you need the material to sit alongside your own platform or timetable, tell us in your enquiry and we will talk it through.

How long does set-up take?

Once we have agreed a quote, we create learner accounts and share joining details. For most groups this takes a few working days.

Is PAM Best Practice linked to a PAM vendor?

No. We are independent, and our material does not recommend products. Read more about us.
